kids-hpNorthern Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) is working to make health better for all people in North Queensland. We have a focus on improving health for populations that are most at risk, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and older Australians. We are actively engaging people in communities through our Community Advisory Groups and we also welcome feedback on health services and issues.

ISAAC REGIONAL HEALTH EXPO: Great to be involved in last month's Isaac Regional Health Expo in Moranbah. A wonderful opportunity for health professionals to get together to:

* learn cultural awareness training
* improve health outcomes by providing knowledge to the rural and remote health professionals
* develop strategies for strengthening health systems in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* recognise how every encounter can be a therapeutic encounter utilising brief interventions that can be make a difference to patient’s mental health and wellbeing
* demonstrate better patient care in rural and remote general practice.
